Create From OS Template
To create a desktop from an OS template, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Desktops menu inside your course
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Below you’ll see the various options available when setting up a desktop from an OS template
Here’s what each field means:
-
GPU Model
Select the GPU model and type if needed. Check the 'Display GPU enabled servers' box to filter the list to only servers that have GPUs. -
Datacentre / Server
Pick the datacentre region and server that is closest to your location, right here in Romania. -
OS to clone from
Choose the operating system template you’d like to clone. Options include Windows and various Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Almalinux, and more. -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
If you run into issues with the latest template, enable this to access custom, older, beta, or release candidate versions. DaDesktop refreshes templates often, but older options remain available here. -
CPU
Specify the number of CPU cores you need. The default of 8 cores is typically enough for most everyday Linux or Windows workloads. -
Memory
Set the memory limit for the desktop in GB. Keep in mind that you're working within the server’s resources, and each server may impose different memory caps. To request a higher limit, reach out to us via Support Chat. -
Disk Space
Decide how much disk space to allocate. The default is 50 GB.
