Running Your Desktop as a Chrome Application
A frequent issue when using your desktop in a browser tab is that some keyboard shortcuts (like Ctrl+W, Ctrl+F4) get captured by the browser itself before they can reach your desktop session.
The simplest workaround is to turn your desktop into a standalone app with Chrome (or any Chromium-based browser).
1. Go to More Tools and choose Create shortcut… on your computer desktop
2. When the shortcut prompt appears, select the ‘Open as window’ option
3. Launch your new application by double-clicking the desktop shortcut
4. Start using the app and enjoy your key shortcuts working just as they should
