Recycle Bin
Once a course wraps up, all associated machines—such as the Fresh Start, Trainer, and every Participant machine—are cleaned up shortly afterward.
A new feature now lets you retrieve these machines from the 'Recycle Bin' for a certain time after they have been taken down. The recovery window varies based on several factors—server disk space, overall course usage, and more—so there is no fixed timeframe. However, you can typically expect machines to be recoverable for at least a few months after the course ends.
You have the option to restore each machine to its original course if the course still exists. If not, you can restore it as a standalone desktop, or permanently delete it if you'd rather.
You can check the status of your Recycle bin by glancing at its icon. A black icon means there are restorable machines waiting; a greyed-out icon indicates the bin is empty.
Additionally, you can search the recycle bin list by machine name, server name, or course name to locate specific items.
How to Recover or Remove Machines from the Recycle Bin
- Restore – Choose this to bring back a machine that was removed from a course. It will reappear in its original course, provided that course is still active. If the course has ended, restoration to the course won't work—you'll need to use the Standalone option instead (explained next).
- Restore to Standalone Desktop – This is ideal when the course is no longer available and you still need the machine. By restoring it as a standalone desktop, you gain the flexibility to keep it as long as you need.
- Delete – To permanently remove a machine from the Recycle Bin, select this option. Note that once deleted, the machine is gone for good—there’s no way to restore it.
- Empty Recycle Bin - Clicking the red Empty Recycle Bin button will wipe all your machines from the Recycle Bin. Once emptied, they cannot be recovered.
