DaDesktop

PC Farm (Bare metal)

Beyond cloud options, DaDesktop also gives you access to bare-metal physical desktops or servers in Romania.

This setup is for one physical machine per participant and has proven useful in cases where learners need to work with:

  1. a full server without virtualization, whether for performance or licensing reasons (such as ONAP, OpenStack)
  2. hardware that can’t be virtualized—like certain GPUs, Mellanox cards when firmware changes are part of the training, or other network gear.

What’s more, this solution works with existing physical classrooms with only slight adjustments. Trainers can set everything up remotely, without needing to be on site.

The Cloud Desktop you already use in the cloud can be directly deployed onto each participant’s physical machine.

Requirement for onsite deployment

To run this on site, you’ll need to purchase physical control cables (called ddnexus), costing roughly 100 USD per desktop.

Give it a try by choosing Metal PC when setting up a Standalone or Fresh-start desktop.
